Ben Roberts was a Playwright and scriptwriter in Hollywood. Among his credits are "Captain Horatio Hornblower" and "Charlies Angels". At the age of 47, he started painting and at a one man exhibition at the Feingarten Gallery in Los Angeles 1966 achieved a considerable success.He also exhibited at the important "Grosvenor Gallery" in London in 1967. His works are owned by Charles Boyer, Gig Young, Betsy Drake and Jennings Lang amongst others. He lived from 1916 - 1984

The Road to Xanadu
This painting was sold in 1967 by the Grosvenor Galery in London to the father of the present owner. A most interesting pice telling a fascinating story painted in the naive style. Oil on card 14"x20" approximately, in its original frame. All in good order, albeit a little dated.(Offered on behalf of a private vendor). NOW DRASTICALLY REDUCED TO CLEAR.
