Brandon Cross paintings
London born, Brandon lived in Surrey for many years but now lives in an idyllic 17th century thatched farmhouse in Cambridgeshire. He has been painting professionally since 1969. Like many of today’s’ well known and collectable artists, he started his career selling his work on the railings in Bayswater.
Brandon Cross paintings are varied, but his most striking, and indeed those which made him best known, were his military scenes on a white background. He does not paint many of these now, and is making a new theme, “Ladies that Lunch”, popular with the bright colours and atmospherically executed works that suit the 21st century. Brandon’s highly distinctive military paintings usually, but not quite always, features Napoleonic war scenes.
