Igor Talwinski was born in Warsaw (in 1907), Poland where he attended Elementary and then High School. After that he went on to study at the “Electrotechnique” school.
In his early youth Professors recognised his talent for drawing, but unfortunately he had no opportunity of attending the Academy.
In 1945, at the end of the Second World War, he emigrated to Paris, completely penniless and not speaking the language. Thus he was forced to work as a handyman, and in his spare time he studied Painting. In spite of great difficulties, he studied well and in 1951 Exhibited for the first time in the “Paris Salon” where he achieved considerable success. Thereafter he held a series of one man shows in London, and New York, while still exhibiting at the “Paris Salon” where he became a member.
On December 6th 1976, the Council of Paris bestowed on him the Silver Medal of the City of Paris. In 1979 he was awarded the diploma of Vermeil of Arts-Sciences-Lettres
It is believed that his niece often modelled for his works. Igor died in 1983
