The Artist was born near Essen in Northern Germany in 1921. He studied at the Academies in Munich and Dusseldorf.
On completion of his studies, he did what every aspiring artist does and travelled extensively visiting the European great Artistic centres such as Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Various cities in Italy and also Athens.
Whilst in Paris, he became a member of the Artists colony there and participated in their exhibition with great success.
He transfigures the daily treadmill of sailors and fishermen, when he shows their vessels resting in port in peace after a hard day’s work.
