The artist Renee Mendell was born in 1908 in Elmshorn, Germany. Renee attended University in Berlin, Frankfurt and Paris. Best known as a sculptor (The National Portrait Gallery in London has one of her works see below) and ceramic artist, Renee also painted and lived for many years in London.
Renee Mendell paintings were included in exhibitions at the R.A., Salone d’Automne in Paris, and The Society of Women Artists, Annual Exhibition, 1992.
